At some point, many people living in Luxembourg have the same thought:
“Should I stay… or should I leave?”
It’s not always dramatic. Sometimes it’s just a quiet feeling that something doesn’t fully fit anymore.
Why this thought is so common in Luxembourg
Luxembourg is a great place on paper:
– stable
– international
– well paid
But many people still feel:
– disconnected
– tired
– not fully “at home”
That creates an internal conflict:
“Why don’t I feel good if everything is fine?”
What people often get wrong
The question is usually framed like this:
👉 stay vs leave
But that’s rarely the real issue.
Often, what’s underneath is:
– lack of direction
– wrong environment (job, people, rhythm)
– emotional fatigue
Changing country doesn’t automatically solve that.
Before you decide, ask yourself this
– What exactly is not working for me right now?
– Is it Luxembourg… or my current life here?
– What would I actually change if I stayed?
Clarity changes everything.
A more useful way to approach it
Instead of making a big decision fast, slow things down:
– understand what’s draining you
– reconnect with what matters
– test small changes
From there, the decision becomes much clearer — and less heavy.
If this feels familiar
This is a very common situation here in Luxembourg, especially among expats.
If this resonates, I run small Zoom sessions to help get clarity.
